Hi has anybody got a propane bottle for sale. I need a small 5/6kg bottle with threaded connection to connect a roofing torch to. Had to leave mine back in UK. if somebody has one full or empty that would be great. alternatively a standard 13kg bottle full/or empty would do as I can use it to exchange to save buying a new bottle. any offers welcome.

will pay cash.

Thanks Steve.

Hello, for a roofing torch you can use either butane or propane, it's not fussy.

You can get a fitting that looks like a regulator but has a threaded outlet on the side instead of a hose barb.  It is NOT a regulator so your roofing torch will see bottle pressure which should not matter.

This screw thread is the same as on a UK butane bottle and if needed a UK butane regulator will fit which is ideal for UK caravans.

The clip-on fitting used on all Spanish bottles will fit either propane of butane, unlike the UK.

Hello.

Thanks for the reply. yes I have one of those regulators with male threaded  connector which I used to use back in the UK for putting torch on roof felt. I am going to need to put some on here so need to locate supplier of propane/butane 5kg bottles with that treaded female connection. as all the stores that I have seen have just the push on and clip fitting for the gas hob etc.

I think I saw some people buying a caravan type gas bottle with that type of connection from that Jars ferreteria down on the commercial zone?

I will give them a try.

thanks for the help.

Steve.

Hi Steve,

Sorry I can't help with the small bottles as I have never used them.  I can understand why you might need one.

Have you thought of buying a few metres of high pressure gas hose instead of humping heavy bottles about?  You can then use a standard bottle and leave it on the floor.

OR

The Spanish bottle connector with the threaded connector is not a regulator.  So ditch that, use a normal regulator, long low pressure hose and a low pressure torch.

Most ferriterias and the Chinos sell low pressure hose by the metre.
