Hi Syd. Here's what I did in the absence of the proper stuff. The builders did actually have some 8 x 4 (yes, I'm still in feet) polystyrene sheets. As the walls went up I built them into the cavity walls. Seeing no wall ties are available in Spain I made my own out of small re-bar.and poked them through the sheets at the appropriate time. As far as damp course went, I cut that from roofing felt. That's rocket science to a Spanish builder. They explained that damp walls are only a problem in winter so they don't bother!!
Have you ever noticed that most Spanish houses have decaying render/plaster up to about a metre which is due to rising damp. They tend just to tile over it to cover it up.
As far as roof insulation went I put the sheets above the suspended ceiling frame. The sheets were 75mm thick so I doubled up in the roof space. In the old part of the house there is no access to above the ceiling.
Good luck with your searches. CM aka Mike
