Further to recent enquiries and replies received with thanks. we are going to need outside storage for my tools etc when we move permanently and have already explored buying and erecting a shed 5cu metre however I have a security steel door almost brand new and was considering having a block built shed and use it for entrance. .My question, would this pose any issues and does permission need to be sought?

if its a long winded process I may just stick with an off the shelf shed.

Thanks

Steve.

Yes, you will need a works license for a permanent structure as it is considered a construction, The under 5 sq m only applies if it is moveable, doesn't involve masonry and is no taller than 1.8 metres high.

Hi I thought that would be the case from your previous advice and also we have had  some building work done recently which needed all sorts of paperwork ad town hall approval.

thanks anyway will have to consider my options
