Hi I'm moving 2 weeks ago sanfulgencio Urbanización with my 4 years old autistic disabled chilldren, where is the special school for that eria ?or how pasibol my children get the special school?I don't drive and don't have car so very important close to that eria :)
Hello
I have friends who have a villa( holiday home )in San Fulgencio and there are no buses at all in their area, It is impossible to even shop without a car or walking a long way & carrying heavy bags back!
I would think your children would need to be medically assessed to find out what type of school they might need & if such a school is available in/around the Alicante area. You should check all this out before you even consider moving to any town/city in Spain
Cheers

Hi with respect I can not understand how you have not researched this topic as a priority long before you made a decision to move. You seem to have ignored the difficulties in first getting a suitable school and second how you get them to it. I am stunned, their welfare is your major priority before you even set a date to move. I suspect you are an EU citizen so less hastle on future residency but I think you need to research before you commit to moving to Spain, or are you already there and it's an internal move.
Regards

let's say don't judge anyone, I didn't think about where to move because I didn't have time to wait, my husband found a job here and my child needs to be operated on, which unfortunately they couldn't do in England, it's a long story and I don't want to describe it

Then I wish you well, but expect a lot of obstacles to come your way. Good luck

Hello
Also a reminder Izabella, if you or your husband dont speak really good Spanish, then you will have great difficulties everywhere you go, especially with your medical requirements /needs. You have to understand & be understood by medical officials also local council depts etc etc.
Get a translator as soon as possible to go with you, otherwise any appts will be a waste of time for everyone. Ive lived here 20yrs and everyday life is difficult at times, without speaking Spanish
Cheers

Yes, we experienced it and we only go with an interpreter. I would like to ask, how does school work for a child with disabled ? My son is autistic and needs a special school. How long does it take and what is the procedure? Could you possibly send a link where they can read it?
Hello
I dont know whether this is correct but.... Elche Ayuntamiento are the town hall for La Marina, where they have an Education dept, ........ I can send a link https://www.elche.es/educacion/ ---it is in Spanish.
This is not a link to special needs schools, just somewhere to start.
They might be a ble to advise you how you begin to apply for a place at a school for special needs children. It is the Christmas holidays now so you could try to contact them after the 6th Jan 2023.
I have NO experience of this at all , you might need medical assessments first, at Drs or hospitals.
I think it could take many months with many appts before you can resolve this & it will not be easy.
Cheers

Elche is the town hall for La Marina Pueblo, San Fulgencio is the town hall for the Urbanisation and have an office on the Urb. opposite Dial Prix beside the tourist information bureau.
