Hi we are both pensioners, waiting for our appointment for our Residensia ( January)

We have just missed our free flu fab in UK.

I don't mind paying, Someone told me we could go to pharmacy but the said not.

Someone else said the doctors,  could someone tell me the surgery times, and any information I need, ( what I needn't take

Any advice please

Thanks

I don't understand. If you're pensioners and about to apply for residency, then you've presumably got S1 forms from DWP at Newcastle to transfer your health cover here. In that case you should have registered them with INSS to sign onto the health service, and then registered with a doctor, who will give you a free flu jab.

Thanks for your reply

Just waiting for S1 to be delivered.

I was mainly just asking for medical centre times, and what I need to take hen I go

Thanks again

Hopefully someone with more recent experience will advise but, unless the system has changed, the first thing you need to do is register the S1s with an INSS office. The ones I know off the top of my head are at Elche, Orihuela, Alicante, and I think Santa Pola and Torrevieja.

Once they've accepted you onto the system, then you go to the medical centre and register and receive SIP cards. Then make an appointment for flu jabs. If you have repeat prescriptions in the UK, also make an appointment with a doctor to get those prescribed here.

I can't help you with medical centre times - I don't know the area. Where I live only has a small medical centre which is open from 8.00 to 2.00, but most of the larger ones are open all day.

There's a lot of information already on this forum, so it's worth spending some time searching or just browsing.

The one by the police station is open until 8pm weekdays, but you will need to speak Spanish or have a translator with you.
