"we cannot apply for residencyb for a year" - you've no choice - you have to apply for residency within 90 days of moving here.

You'll only get a prescription if you're able to transfer your NHS cover to Spain; otherwise you'll have to buy medications at a chemist.

If you cant transfer, then you must buy PHI. Click on the advert for Gran Alacant Insurances and ask them.

The common BP pills are cheap.

Hi Graham,

I am replying to this post as I've also seen your other post about applying to join the Convenio Especial.  Please note that you have to be resident in Spain for 1 year before you can apply to join the Convenio Especial, which means you'll have to pay for private health insurance for your first year here in order to obtain residency.

Kind regards,

Kim
