ASSSA are regularly recommended on here and are accepted for the NLV however, as far as I am aware, once you become Spanish residents you no longer have access to the NHS as it is residency based. Only some people resident here before Brexit maintain the right to use the NHS.

If you move permanently to Spain, you cannot continue to get regular prescription medication via the NHS, as it is a residence-based system. You must register with the Spanish healthcare system to receive subsidised prescriptions, if eligible. You can only bring up to 3 months' supply of medication when moving. NHS eligibility ends if you are away for more than 3 months, you are considered non-resident and removed from your GP list, ending your right to ongoing NHS prescriptions.
My partner and I have been with DKV private health insurance and find them very good.

Another shout out from me for ASSSA. My experience with them has been very good. Don't forget, though, no private health insurance company in Spain will cover you for pre existing conditions.

Thanks for the replies.
I dont see a problem keeping an address in the uk for bp and cholestorol medication.
Im still a uk citizen where my private pension will be paid as well as accessing the uk nhs after paying my stamp all my life. I will always be a uk citizen.
I receive stoma bags after bowel cancer.
Do I see a problem shipping my free meds out to spain?
I understand having private insurance for the family for the 5 years. Then gaining full residency being able to access the spanish Medical care system.
I wont be a spanish resident for 5years so why cant I access my meds in the uk still?
They wont know my scenario?!
Sorry for the confusion.

Because that is fraud against the NHS. I think they have enough problems.

I think having worked all my life and paid my full stamp and taxes for 40 years and a full uk resident I would like to think that would give me my right to the nhs and what im entitled to.

You voluntarily give up those rights when becoming resident in another country

Residency is defined as the country you spend 183+ days in any year (with very few exceptions)
