I have a broken tendon in the shoulder.

What type of surgery will I be offered in the Spanish nhs?

Thank you

Go to the doctor. They will tell you.

Hello

Dont think this is going to help much but a friend of mine was waiting so long  for shoulder  surgery ( relating to rotator cuff? ) he eventually went to the Quiron private hospital & had the surgery there.

It had been many months since the consultation/ diagnosis   at Torrevieja Hospital & he was in so much pain he couldn't wait any longer. It did cost around €13,000 which included post op physio sessions etc  but  more importantly, it was done quite quickly.

Cheers

That is your other option.

Presumably you’ve had an ultrasound on your shoulder to diagnose your problem. When you had the result of the scan from your GP they should have run through the options.  I also presume you’ve been told if can take around 18 months to recover. So even if you decide to go private it’s still a long journey to recovery

I had a fall 12 months ago, damaging my shoulder. An x ray showed no broken bones, but then I had to wait 5 months for my ultrasound appointment. I was diagnosed with tendonosis and have been referred for rehab, which again I’ve been waiting months for my appointment. I’ve had to pay privately for acupuncture and for physio to relieve the pain and even 12 months on my movement is very limited. Fortunately my physio has now managed to get enough blood flowing to the tendon and it is slowly starting to repair itself, but the hard slog has now begun of try to get  my mobility back.
