I am using a solicitor here on the urbanisation(there are many who do this service for a fee of course).  It seems to be a very slow service whoever you use.  I have waited for an appointment in Alicante after letting solicitor have passport photo, up to date residencia  (which is obtained only after an appointment with San Fulgencio town hall) and my passport so you will need to gather these items even with a solicitor.  then after your visit to the government office in Alicante they will post on to you and delivery of the final card takes up to 8 weeks to arrive in your letterbox.  A long process indeed!!!

Your post is really confusing?  I think you are getting a lot of procedures mixed up.

To register your S1 form for a SIP Card you need to do it through the local INSS office, as the OP  correctly trying to do. I would suggest to the OP to enlist the services of a gestor. It shouldn’t cost very much and well worth it, they do these things every day and know the easiest way of doing things.

But  martmat you do not require a photo for your SIP card . The S1 form is registered at the INSS office and you are  allocated a GP at your nearest salud and given a temporary SIP card starlight away.  The SIP card does not have a photo on it. Presumably the health district in question here is Torrevieja so the INSS office is in Torrevieja. The temporary SIP card is then taken to the salud  for a permanent SIP card.

Neither do you obtain your residencia at the local town hall, this has to be done at the foreigners office in Alicante. Once you’ve had a fingerprint appointment, you then have to return a 2-3 weeks later  (currently) to collect your card. They are not posted out as they check your fingerprint before they release the card to you.

The form you obtain from your town hall is the padron. The method for renewing that varies between municipalities and I know that at both Guardamar and Rojales you can literally just turn up without a prior appointment Some other municipalities offer a service of asking for a copy online.

I’m really not sure what process you are talking about where a card is sent through the post to you after a wait of 8 weeks.

This makes sense, although i thank martmat as well. I have the green nie, the empadronamiento, my S1 but i have had no success in finding a way to get an appointment at INSS torrevieja. Can i ask for a contact of a gestor, so that i can use his services?

Thanks!!!

There are a number of ex pat services who can probably help. The only one I can think of in your area is in Consum Square in La Marina, in the corner by the German supermarket. There are a couple in Quesada. One way Services which is just off Av de Naccionales, near the square where the council offices are. There’s also an Ex Pat place near the Laguna Hotel  It’s next door but one to Bankinter on the Lemon Tree Road CV895.

Not too sure if you’ll be able to do much at the moment as the INSS office probably closes for August holidays, but the gestor will be able to confirm that.

We used One Way Services to do ours when we first moved over, I know they’ve had a lot of bad publicity lately, but they sorted out everything for us and I can’t fault their service.

Yes I must apologise.  I mixed up the SIP medical card procedure with the new Residency card.  So sorry for the mix up xx
