Kaos, don’t worry about it, and more so don’t be put off by those who just want to moan about Brexit. Continue with your holiday plans and enjoy yourself. It’s a law which has existed since 2007, it was put in place for obvious reasons to stop or discourage those who wanted to gain entry for non legitimate reasons. The immigration department have therefore the right to ask for such proof. But they do not unless they suspect something is wrong ! Lately it is being sensationalised by the press, and others who just want to emphasise the fact that The UK are no longer in Europe. Which I think we already know! Legitimate tourists, second home owners and so on will not be asked. If you arrive in a rubber dinghy, or in any other way raise the suspicions of the immigration department then you will be checked, and quite rightfully so. Unfortunately it’s the opposite in the UK if you arrive in a rubber dinghy, they don’t ask if you have 100 euro per day for your intended stay, instead they give it to you, and put you up in a hotel for free. Then being unmonitored, you can just disappear into the community when you feel like it.
