Hi all, me and my partner are thinking of buying a holiday home in Costa Blanca, we both will have to work quite a few years in the UK as yet, before we can take more than a week at a time over there, but It will be well used as we have large families. Ill try to look through previous posts before asking any questions as from my use of other forums i know how annoying the same old stuff coming up every day can be!

Can anyone tell me if there is much of a music scene? I have always played in bands and would like to get involved.

Welcome, and good luck for the future.

Ref playing in bands, it depends on what genre you prefer. If it's anything along the style of the Spanish scene, then I suggest you look at the original Costa Blanca forum, join that forum and send Andreu a message. He's what I call a real musician, and the group he plays in has won quite a few awards:

Thank you Jim, I am more looking at joining or setting up a band playing uk music, and from what I've seen while on holiday decent cover bands  are not the norm! I could be wrong,  if there is a community of musicians or somewhere they advertise that would be useful.

I wish you luck. Living inland we never hear of English music performers, but I know that on the coastal strip there are, or used to be, quite a few.

Next time I see any of the freebie papers I'll pick them up and see if there's anything in there that could help you.

Hopefully someone else will answer you.

Hi Andy - I purchased a 2 bed bolthole in Toretta Florida last year and absolutely love it! - I'm not far from the Haberneras and a 15-20mns stroll down to Torrevieja Marina.  There are a few Bars/Restaurants in the Area that welcome bands/entertainment - an English couple own The Marina Bar (behind the Fire Station) which has a large swimming pool and at the moment only have a Trad Jazz band playing for 2 hrs on a Tues Lunchtime - it may be worth contacting them to query if there's an option for a evening stints?

Good luck

Linda

So in a little confused (not unusual for me)!

Is the lamarina forum a sub forum of a larger costa blanca forum?

I'm not sure which area I'm looking at yet although it must be within an hour or so of alicante. Should I be posting in a more general forum?

It's part of the top level

https://www.costablancaforum.com/

If you look at that top level, the sub forums are by topic, not location.

It's just that you're required to nominate an area when joining the forum or posting a topic on it.
