Assuming you've been to La Marina before and know it's not really a very Spanish area. The upper part of San Fulgencio is mainly foreign and overwhelmingly Brit. Still, it's in a nice place, pretty close to the beaches and good road connections to the airport and Alicante one way and Guardamar and Torrevieja the other.
BLS Spain Visa are responsible for dealing with visas and their website shows what you will require and also the Spanish consulate which deals with your area in UK for processing the application.
Each of you will require their own NLV and meet the requirements. The application is dealt with together but you must all meet the requirements for income, health and so on. In your case the annual income amount to be shown will be €43,200 a year being IPREM x 4 of 28,800 for the main applicant and IPREM of 7,200 for each family member.
Each applicant will require health insurance which meets the standard provided by the Spanish health service with no co payments for treatment. Children under 18 get free healthcare once their parents are registered as residents.
You cannot take up paid employment with this visa for at least the first year but you can apply to change it for a work visa after one year if you have a guaranteed job offer.
Lots of places to meet up and get to know your neighbours in La Marina. I'm sure those living there will be able to steer you onto schooling and so on but children cannot start state school unless they have the full childhood vaccine schedule completed.
You'll need a car in La Marina as buses are few and far between and it's quite a walk to the main bus routes on the N332.
Best of luck, plenty of advice on here about applying and living in the area. Once you get use to the Spanish red tape (nobody ever gets used to it, just accepts it) then you'll have a great time.
