Looking for a job: Foreman in construction

Hey everyone! I got such a positive response last time that I am going to ask you guys for more advice. Looking for any leads or names of companies that We can contact in reference to prospective work in construction for my husband. We are planning to come over shortly to look at properties as our house is about to go on the market so would be good if he can look in to potential employment and meet some people in similar trade. He is currently a site supervisor and foreman. He has lots of experience in all areas of building trade but esp in groundworks. Thankyou for reading 🙂

Sorry for telling what you will not like to hear. Chances for employment (specially for aliens) are very very poor. Spain is still number 2 (behind Greece) on the EU unemployment scale, wages are low, and (unpaid) extra hours are self understood. Competitors from Eastern Europe and Central America deliver good quality for an apple and an egg. Perhaps you consider setting up your own business, in which case your customers will rarely exceed your compatriots with the consequent (restricted) revenue.

However, setting up a business is very easy and doesn't cost a penny. All you need is filing form 803 with "Hacienda", similar to IRS in the US (don't know the equivalent for UK) and join the "SS.SS" (National Pension Scheme) which includes all Medical Health Services (with limitations on dental surgery, and hearing, walking and visual aids (which must be born by the individual), however, prescriptions are subsidized by 90%.

As killjoy has stated above, you will be in competition against a wide range of people looking for similar type work, and the pay will be far less than what you currently earn in the UK. Does your hubby speak fluent Spanish, as I would think that this is essential for a role of supervisor/foreman, where communication with fellow workers is of key importance?
