Dear all

I've started this topic in an attempt to gauge those of us who were going or are still applying for Residency prior to 31/12.  It's a bit daunting at the moment and a lot of indecisions by governments and scaremongering by people and organisations.

I think it would be interesting to find out the following:

1.  Those of us who are still applying, and the reasons behind it.

2.  Those of us who have decided not to carry on, and the reasons behind it.

Looking forward to the replies.

Hi GC - we had our plan and did our sums. Clearly any plan comes with risks. The world is full of them and not all are associated with the kind of trade deal we get with the EU. Like your broken ankles or contracting a virus from China.

We went ahead with residency and collected our cards last week. We've only been here 3 months but the plan and budgeting is holding so far without deviation from estimate v's actuals.

The world will need to contend with challenges in the future but you can only focus on what you can control or mitigate some risks you just need to accept.

We chose to live a little doing what we want to do and accept the world isn't a perfect place :)

Good post by the way and maybe it will generate some debate :)

Hi we have just decided to take the plunge and move over permanently.  Patron interview  sorted and hopefully  residency  very soon. Just about to purchase our permanently  home in Blue Lagoon. Lots of balls to juggle, just hoping  with the help of forums  such as this we will get all the support we need to land all the balls in the correct place.

HI, Yes, we are still taking the plunge.  The house in the UK is sold, we have an annual rental in Moraira all sorted and are hoping to be there by November.  We are on the case re the residency with the help of a great company,   At least, we know that if we are there and resident by 31/12 we can stay (I hope) :)

Hi......good post yourself and I wholeheartedly agree with your statement.

Life is a short journey and you must do what you want to achieve happiness as best as you can.

I'm just interested to hear of what thoughts are on the table and I think that other people feel the same.

Thanks again Lancelot.

Nice one Rogerwho and thanks for the feedback.

Good luck with it all. I've got a fair bit still to get sorted.
