Can anyone recommend: Builder

Many thanks for that useful info, at this stage contracts have just been signed and we hope to take possession and get builder involved early January, if necessary it may be good to know an English person local to oversee in our absence? perhaps an Architect  or one retired? ?

We used DonAluminio builders , they finished the job in September .

They built up and extended a terrace - they did a great job. We don’t live in Spain so it was a leap of faith , they did it when we weren’t there.

If you look on ‘TalkQuesada’ forum there are loads of reports from people in relation to their work - talk to Rob there.

I would recommend them highly.

Spanish Tradesmen are also known to try to Rip off Brits .It certainly is not as cut and dried as RayD implies.

I would also recommend DonAluminio builders - Rob is English, his colleagues are Spanish and South American, so you get excellent quality workmanship with the convenience of being able to communicate in English.  They are fully legal.

I used “Barclays” to carry out my alterations and create/install a new pool - this was 3 years ago

Very happy with the project and the communication, and everything was documented with building regs/legal correctly followed

I am now using them again for a smaller job and have had a good experience this far. The only difference this time is that they now have a young (British) Project Manager, Tommy, who is based in Barclays Estate Agents office on the Urb - I found Tommy a very good communicator sending me updates/photos etc, and he is easily accessible 

Barclays Construction are fully legal

WELL! All looked positive with the amount of replies and recommendations we received from this site 

HOWEVER having had no replies from any builder, not even an acknowledgement of work wanted, it leaves me thinking they are so busy they don't want my work? 

I want a bedroom extension,Roof terrace,Internal wall removed, New Kitchen, Bathroom, Rear car port, swimming pool, New Gates, re-paint in and out, Tiling. [Not to be sneezed at you would think!!!!]

I am 74, a retired builder myself, I was hoping to liaise via e mail to get the work done ready for our next visit.

I am in the UK is it worth coming out and sitting on their laps?

I notice that you posted your original message just less than 48 hrs ago - even if you'd acted on every recommendation, immediately you received it, I would be surprised if you'd received responses yet.  As frustrating as I'm sure it is, things in Spain move at a slower pace.

More significantly, following the devastating floods this whole area suffered in September, I expect all builders have enough work to last them for many months.

Sorry I can't offer a more helpful explanation.
