Hi guys, we've bought an old finca in la marina, and wow, it's been cold in the house this christmas, so we are looking to buy double glazed windows, and maybe a door. Can anyone recommend a company for this. Obviously, we don't want to pay too much, but we want decent quality also. We might fit ourselves, or pay them to do it if they charge reasonably.

Also, does anyone know if the companies that fit get the permissions that are required, or is that our job usually?

Thanks loads guys.

Regards, Rena

Hi Rena

You can try Aluminios Montesinos

0034 610740972. 610737175

Pol  Ind. Lo Blanc.16

Might be better to call in person  as English  not great, I got some windows  2 year  ago, now in process  of ordering  more  from them, very  happy  with service  and price

They manufacture mostly  Aluminium  windows

Simply windows and Doors.es

A English  company  who manufacture mostly PVC, it is slightly  more expensive  than Aluminium

0034 966 718 738

They have  a showroom  in San Luis.

I will add that windows  alone will not make  your Property  warmer, Spanish  properties  are designed  to be cool in Summer, There  is NO  heat retention  or any insulation  of any type  used in older buildings,  now using insulation  in current  building  going  up

Most Property  are cold after 16.30 in afternoon  when sun disappears, it a fact, I bring  dog for walk  around  22.00 most evening  and it warmer  outside  than inside  and I have Air conditioning  on for heating

You will need to get New Air conditioning  installed,  get.treble  x ..rated.units.

You may also  try Brico  Buildings  supplies  in Crevellent  or Leroy Merlin  they have standard  Pvc windows  that may suit  on the shelf,  just check  measurements  of old windows, fairly  reasonable  prices

We used an excellent window company.

His workshop is in San fulgencio, you can go & look. The owner Gino is very meticulous & takes a real pride in his work.

The company is called Masterclass windows.

We had windows & a new front door.

Quality is excellent & after sales services are top class.

His workmen are efficient & clean & tidy.

Buy thermal blinds and curtains. Changing the windows is not going to make a lot of difference as heat will be lost through the walls and roof. Look at Leroy Merlin for air conditioners as they also fit and a wall mounted heater for the bathroom. Other than that, layers and blankets!

Recently replaced most of mine with upvc what a difference draughts and noise. I looked at Leoy Merlin and found theyre suppled by a company in Valencia caEco Blu. Amazed how much I saved going direct. They deliver for free took 4 weeks for mine. Easy enough to fit if your any good at diy.
