I would advise buying from the bikes manufacturer, way too much risk of fire or explosion if buying 3rd party or Chinese copies!
It would be helpful if you could specify the make, some systems only work with the manufacturer's batteries and others are more open. If the battery no longer works after a long break, a single cell bank may be discharged. This can be measured and rectified. Get in touch with me if you would like me to take a look or if I can help you out with tools. I've been tinkering with ebikes for more than 10 years.
