Hello,

Is there anywhere on La Marina URB that we can we register on the Padron?

I understand we need to take copies of our passport and NIE documents, is there anything else we need to take long with us to get registered?

Can we get the registration document the same day

Thank you

Hi Mary

Did you find out how to get on the padron and where to do it?

Regards

Jai

Hi Mary56,

Registering on the Padron is usually done at your Ayuntamiento (Town Hall); as La Marina comes under San Fulgencio, I think you'd have to go to the Ayuntamiento in San Fulgencio to do this.  There is a police station on La Marina urb, so you could check there first.

Assume you're already registered as a Resident, if you want to sign onto the Padron?

Kind regards,

You do not have to be resident in all areas to be on the padron!  In Rojales the council ask everyone to register as it brings more money into the community.

Unfortunately, Ada, people keep perpetuating this myth, encouraged by Ayuntamiento that know it's illegal, but don't care because they get the revenue without risk of prosecution.

If it is good for the community surely this has to be a good thing!  the big problem is even some of the residents do not sign on and apparentely this is a big problem.   This is also why some areas stink as they do not get the funding to upgrade the sewerage sytems and it can not cope with the amount of holiday homes when the tourists are here but if they sign on the extra funds bennefit all.

Ada, I understand perfectly the benefits of people signing onto the Padron, but to do so without being Resident is ILLEGAL.  Personally, I'm more concerned with all the foreign Residents, and Non-residents who exceed 183 days in Spain in any one tax year, who haven't made a declaration of their assets here and aren't paying their taxes here - if they did that, Spain's central government would have more money to give out to the regions.  It's all very well people signing onto the Padron, but that doesn't give Madrid any more money.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The government get their money from taxpayers. That means it's me who's paying the councils the extra money they draw in by having on the padron the complete idiots who illegally register.
