non recident tax
Bought a property in la marina last november, still unused, have no intentions of renting it out so do I have to pay any non recident tax, if not do I still need to fill the form in and by when?

Due around September of every year. Submitted on MOD210. Covers previous year so you should only need to pay Nov/Dec for last year

Your IRNR or non residents tax is due by 31st December this year. Best speak with your lawyer, I believe it should have been paid by the previous owner but you need to check.
For the future you can calculate and pay it yourself even from the UK if you want to or, Angar Taxation can handle it for you. They charge €20 plus whatever the tax amount is to calculate and pay it. If the property is jointly owned its €20 per person as each owner pays the tax.
Google Angar Taxation or follow the link below to pay it yourself. At first it will appear really complex but once you've worked through the guide its not too bad.

HI Col13,
Yes, you will have to pay Non-resident tax for last year, but it will be pro-rated for the period you owned it in 2020 and payable no later than end December 2021. The tax is based on the catastral value of your property, which appears on your IBI (Council Tax) bill. See my earlier post on the same subject:
Declaration for Tax as a RESIDENT of SPAIN
(This is not the same as your IBI (Council Tax), which is payable by whoever owned the property on 1 January each year.)
Kind regards,
Kim
I wouldn’t panic about NRT. I didn’t even know that it existed until I followed a thread in here. I had bought my house almost three years earlier. I agree about Angar Taxation services. They were great and quickly worked out all the back tax for a small fee. It’s all done via email too so you can do it from the U.K. if the tax isn’t paid the authorities have the power to seize control of your bank account and also suspend utilities. Good luck.
