Are there golf clubs in the region that offer reasonable annual memberships?

Depend on what you consider  a reasonable price, how many times  per week you want to play and how far you want to travel.

Some clubs will offer a membership which equates to  40/50 games per annum.

Vast majority enjoy the variety of playing society golf, which is normally the cheapest way to play. Groups book up tee times 12 months ahead so members can sometimes have a limited choice of tee times.

Prices have increased quite a bit this year and some have already announced their prices for 2024.

Thank you Graham, do you know of any societies I could approach in the La Marina - Elche region?

Hi Ozzie,

A friend of mine belongs to the golf society run by Imanyo's bar in Daya Nueva:

Some of the golf societies advertise in the back pages of the free newspapers you can pick up at Iceland, so they're worth a look too.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Ozzie, there are a lot of local clubs, non offer what you would call reasonable membership prices compared to the UK. However there are options. I have done membership and societies. It all depends on how much you want to play.

Roughly 2000 euros per year is average, and some (Vistabella) limit the number of games to 100. So once you hit the limit, New membership rqd. Also as a member most clubs now only allow you book a short time in advance, however visiting Northern Europeans can book months in advance therefore tee times, especially in high season (now) are limited.

Some clubs offer lower prices (Alenda golf, la serena) however you pay 5 euros each time you play so you’ve got to work out how much you want to play.

Most societies are roughly 50 euros a game, obviously if you join a few you can pick the courses and times you want to play.

La Marquesa golf has a lot of societies playing there and there are a lot of membership options, from 1 game a week and up. It’s the most local for La Marina however although much improved, is not to everyones taste.

Societies to research, Busters golf, Euro golf, La Marina golf and there are many others.

If you need any introductions PM me and I can put you in touch a few, also I play most weeks with friends and you are welcome to join. Good luck !!

Hi Ozzie

Vistabella circa 25/30 mins drive from La Marina

Vistabella Golf | Memberships

Plus you need to add circa another €1k for a buggy
