I've no idea what shops there are in La Marina, but for best choice and price I'd always go to either Tien 21 or Media Markt. I suppose it depends on whether you have a car.

Tien 21 have shops in Dolores, Almoradi, Guardamar etc, and there's a big MediaMarkt in Elche. I can give you locations if you want them.

Hi Jim

That would be great thanks, will have a hire car initially, but, taking over our first spanish property in the next two weeks and no doubt there will be lots of little trivia i will need to source and arrange.  Alan

I did find TV Horadada in Zenia Boulevard looks a possibility.

Hi Pete.  Planning on a subscription with Telecable based in La Marina, have been quoted €139 installation and €33 or €39 / month depending on either 4mb or 8mb download speed. There is a dish and box in the villa but unfortunately its all german channels.

Thanks for the feedback Alan

The dish is barely 1metre across but i think it might be an idea to shop around for other quotes at that. I know there isn't a fibre supply as yet around my villa.

A 1.4 metre dish will be sufficient, now that the new satellite is going to be functioning for years.

For a good read on the subject of English TV, have a look at Graham's website:

http://tvtech.sharepoint.com/Pages/home.aspx

We're very happy with the 1.4 m prime focus dish and digi box we got from him - no loss of signal at any of the times we watch, and we watch BBC2 a lot.

If you want peace of mind as regards after sales service, and maybe you would prefer to shop locally, I would highly recommend you have a look in Euronics at the top of the urbanisation. They are not necessarily any dearer than the likes of Media Markt. They set the tv up for you and they are back round to your house immediately if you have any problems.

Geoff.

As Geoff has said Euronics on the Urb by Sabadell Bank highly recommended and found them to be competitive and extremely helpful.
