You have asked it! :)

Just wondering ...What''s the difference between La Marina forum and a La Marina village forum?

Jan,

Thanks for responding. There are 2 specific areas in the La Marina area.

I) La Marina Urbanisation about 4 - 5km from the beach, on the top of the hill, with a great main street, and thousands of properties.

2) La Marina Village 3.5 km away from the "Urb", down the hill towards the beach, on the flat, and just 600m from the beach. It has one main street with apartments, shops & restaurants, and a  connected area called "El Pinet" 2km away, which is only 300m from the beach.

Many expats live in the village & El Pinet.

To differentiate between the La Marina Village and La Marina Urbanisation would be beneficial (in my opinion)

Jan, further to my explanation re The Urb and The Village, virtually everyone that lives in this overall area differentiates between the two.

To have a La Marina Village Forum would attract more users, I think, and personally, as I'm in the Village itself, would avoid me leafing through all the existing forum looking for anything specifically The Village.

Thank you. I understand now and will look into possibly separating these 2 areas. I will put it on the list for our web-developer to see what he can do.

Thank you. We appreciate all suggestions.

We're happy to add this. What do other members think? The problem is that those in the La Marina group won't see posts in the La Marina Village group (and vice versa), unless they visit it. Let us know if you think that's a problem.

Personally I'm against any further splitting out of areas - I don't see the need for it.

I'm in La Marina group, even though I live nowhere near there. I live near Rafal, but don't see any point asking for a Rafal group, even though there are quite a lot of Brits in the area.

I get the daily digest, and it only takes a few seconds to scan that and see if there are any posts that interest me.

And if you confine your viewing of the forum to posts only for your local area, then you're going to miss a lot of general stuff that would be of interest to you.

I agree with Jim.

I DO live in La Marina and am very interested in both parts of it, but not in two forums - please!

Geoff.

OK I hear your plea's for No Change!! heavens above!!

But surely ideas and tweaking here and there is what a new publication needs. It can always go back easily if it realy doesn't suit. Proof of the pudding will be in the number of hits etc.and the number of folks opinions, surely that's the life blood of a forum.

With respect, the point about Rafal is hardly relevent, this is about an area that contains two distinct La Marinas, 5km apart.

Hi Bade

One idea that I'm thinking of adding to the site is community groups within a forum. For example, if La Marina had a bike club then we could have a sub-forum in the La Marina forum for them to discuss things in their group. We could do the same for La Marina Village. Let me know what you think.

For the moment what you could do is start a new topic, "La Marina Village residents" and discuss village related things there if you like?

Alex
