Hello

I've noticed several people on here wanting to buy/adopt  dogs & puppies recently, some for gifts obviously related to the time of year. It does sadden me that so many beautiful dogs are sitting in rescue centres waiting for a loving home

Please remember...A dog is for life - not just for Christmas,

Elinspain

Couldn't agree with you more as I volunteer at an animal shelter and see these poor cats and dogs who all they want is a warm and loving home....for life!

Years ago I used to help walk the dogs at the S.A.Ts dog rescue in Dolores. Great bunch of people.

Well, if you ever decide you want to do it again the Torrevieja municipal animal shelter would gladly like your help. We have one lovely gentleman who is taken for a walk by a ginormous soft German shepherd each week.lol!

Hi, Is the Torrevieja animal shelter near the fire station, if I do decide to take a look? what times and days are good as if I remember correctly there are daily schedules to keep and I am not as young as I used to be!!!!  Interested and thank you for your helpful reply.

Yes, it's the first turning on the right on the sliproad just after the fire station.

If you pop in during the week it's open daily from 9 - 1 and 4 - 6. Think Saturdays are the same but can't remember if they are open in the afternoon. Sundays are 9 - 11.30. The dog walkers tend to get there at 9 to start their walks.

If you go on a Wednesday morning I'm there so just pop your head in the cattery and ask for Sharon. Usually up to my eyeballs in cat litter! :)

Thank you for sharing this information, I will gear myself up!! And I will definitely come and see if I can be of some help, I am very nervous/apprehensive, but animals, especially dogs have a sixth sense about them and know I would be there to help. Also I hope to meet you on Wednesday.
