Just come down for lunch and La Mata front and all the boardwalk is all closed off. Piles of sand and JCB on the beach digging along the wall. Are we hopefully getting a PAVED WALKWAY?? Heres hoping!! Boardwaywalk is disgusting, nails sticking up, planks deformed. Had nasty accident myself resulting 23 stitches close to my eye! Please say it is going to be like a the others along the coastline!!

Yes just look at the bottom of the Spanish in the post and it says translate. You may have to set to always translate from UK to es that's what I did! Hope you are successful!

Prom refit underway

The national government is stumping up €850,000 to replace a section of La Mata’s deteriorating promenade, according to Torrevieja mayor Eduardo Dolón. Sr Dolón noted that the project is being carried out on the section which runs from Avenida de Soria to Avenida de los Europeos, which was damaged by storms this year.

Another newspaper article stated the new boardwalk would be paved not wooden  - similar to that in Molino Blanco

Any more news on this? Wondering if the money was ring-fenced given the Covid problems etc. Also there are 2 stretches of wooden walk, 1 by Sands Bar and the other up towards Torrevieja direction. Will it be both or just one?
