Looks like things are getting serious so opening a Spanish bank account would be advisable

The Daily Mail.....hmmm.
The headline suggests that (most/many/all) British citizens living in Spain will be unable to keep a UK bank account as evidenced by the sub headline, copied and pasted here >
British expats in Europe risk having their UK bank accounts closed due to Brexit
Not true.
The Daily Mail has improved in its willingness to criticise the Government, because even their editors are smelling the coffee, but when it comes to anti EU propaganda the Mail and Express have not changed!

Yep I get the headline does not mention Spain and ony certain banks. However, flicking through these forums it would seem Barclaycard have already notified ex-pats in Spain of their intent to cancel their cards.
Apart from the headline being slightly misleading I don't think this is anti-EU as the banks mentioned have already signalled their intent, others mentioned they are considering their positions also. Add to this information can be sourced elsewhere than Mail/Express I feel this is important for this forum and members might want to keep up to date to be in advance of any changes which might affect them so as they can act first.
