Vela Beach in La Mata is excellent.   So too is Matute but they are currently closed for winter

Thank you, we are at the other end of La Mata but will try it when we come over at Easter. Do you know if it will be open then?

After living almost 60 years in spain, I still wonder what, where and how is a "authentic paella". During my next stay in Wandsworth (south of London) I will ask around for authentic bangers 'n' mash and Lady Chatterley's liver..

I believe what most people fondly believe to be an ‘authentic ‘paella is an elaborate paella de mariscos, shellfish. A true Valencian version would actually consist of mainly green vegetables, with some rabbit if you’re lucky, being essentially all that people would have had to flavour a dish of rice.
