I am thinking of investing in a property in or around Benidorm and have 2 ideas, an apartment in Benidorm, or a villa in La Nucia, I need to be able to rent it out in the summer months as I only intend to use it in Winter, what is the best for expats, with regards to facilities, shops, travel etc???

Davebev1's guides: Renting out your property as a holiday let in Spain
Since this guide was posted the wait for a Tourist Licence can be up to a year assuming that the Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) agree the property is suitable. If they consider it to be in a residential area you will not get a licence. Some communities have started to vote re allowing further holiday lets or increasing community fees for them. You can't even advertise until you have the licence. If you are from the UK you may well be limited to 90 days out of 180 post Brexit.

It is illegal to advertise without a licence and the owner will risk heavy fines if caught. The holidaymaker also risks a visit from the Guardia Civil and being turfed out on the spot possibly with a fine as well. The Spanish don't muck about with fines!
