It's normally included in your car insurance

Do they repair your car at the roadside like the AA or RAC would?

They did when we had to call them out last year, they replaced a faulty battery. I'm not sure how in depth they will go. Saying that in my experience the AA don't do a great deal anymore.

A car insurance policy includes mandatory breakdown insurance but this doesn't cover roadside assistance - it just covers the removal of your vehicle to a location you require; obviously normally a repair garage.
Most grúa drivers will fix simple problems, like a jump-start if you've got a flat battery, or fuel if you run out. Some will go a bit further if you cross their palms with silver.
If you want roadside assistance, then look at RACE - but don't expect English to be spoken. How many RAC or AA men speak Spanish?

With the policy on my cars & bikes, which are fully comp, I get "gold cover" breakdown cover, which includes roadside assistance throughout Europe.

When I had a flat tyre last year I pulled off the N332 as much as I could (I was not far from the airport turn off) and phoned the number shown on my insurance policy because I could not find the spare wheel. I managed to advise the person who answered of my location and was advised that the grua should be with me in about one hour. It was actually about 45 minutes later when the lorry arrived. He sorted out where the spare tyre was and changed it for the damaged one. No charge. I then finished my journey and then returned to my home town where I took the car to my local repair garage. As the tyre could not be repaired (damaged too much) and another of the same make was not available I had to have 2 new tyres.
