Hi, Jan and everyone else. We have previously stayed in Moraira and Benitachell, and I fell in love with La Sella when I first saw it on property websites. We are coming out again at the end of April to view properties for sale, and any advice on buying/living/holidaying in the area would be great. We would love to meet up for a drink/chat if anyone would be around at that time.

ps We live on our dairy farm in Pembrokeshire - hubby is a keen cyclist and I am a golfing beginner, so you can see that La Sella will be perfect for us!

Hi Ali, are you thinking about La Sella for a holiday home or permanent living? When I started house hunting I was almost obsessed with buying my permanent home on La Sella but in the end opted to buy in a village. No disrespect to anyone who lives permanently at La Sella but for me there isn't actually much there as it's a vast urbanisation with little infrastructure. Yes you have the golf, farmacia etc but not much else. The mini market is ok for basic essentials but that's about it. You need a car to go anywhere. I suppose it all comes down to personal taste.
Living in Beniarbeig I find I'm integrating with Spanish (and other nationalities) in the local bars here and becoming part of a village community. Also with the geography of La Sella (hilly) you need to be careful that your property will get sun when it's arc dips lower in the winter. It can get pretty cold up there.
I've havn't used Spain4You but I've met Amanda and would agree she has a good reputation.
Either way this is not meant to be a criticism of La Sella because I like it very much, just a different perspective!
Good luck with your purchase, keep us posted 😊
