Hi, I’m buying a small bungalow in La Siesta, any hints or tips please, ie is it easy to get taxis and buses from here. And recommendations for friendly bars and restaurants also. And are there paths in the nature park to go to the sea ? Thank you.

Hi, there is a really good bus service in La Siesta and plenty of bars and restaurants.  Paths to the sea, bit far to walk but you can get the bus to the beach.

Thank you Andrea, that’s good to know as I don’t drive, but my hubby walks for miles so he can probably do the sea bit , and can you get taxis easily? Thank you again for your response x

Hi, you can get taxis easily enough but we have lived here since 2001 and have only used a taxi once.    The buses from La Siesta go into Torrevieja where you can change to another bus to go somewhere else.   You have selected a good area where you are able to travel quite well by bus, only run every thirty minutes or so but more often in the summer.   Timetable is on the bus stops in Torrevieja and people usually take a photograph of the time table with their mobile phones so that you can have a look at the time table whenever you want to refer before going for the bus.

Hi,

In response to you walking through the park to the sea I'd say it's a must. At a leisurely pace it will only take 45mins to get to La Mata. Lovely walk as get to see and hear the nature, such a beautiful park on our doorstep that so few have used who have been here many years. Ive been here over 14 years and go running through the park 3 times a week, still finding new paths!

If you want any more advice or info just pm me and I'll be glad to help.

Hi,

Sorry but you're a good 10kms away. You can drive there and park your car in the visitors centre near La Mata and then walk through the park. If you go on the Torrevieja tourism website it has plenty of info on places and things to do.

Hope this helps.😸
