Hi guys, any useful information gratefully received.

Hubby and I are in our forties, planning to move to Spain at the end of this year after selling our property in Scotland. (Hubby works abroad so i’ll be living alone a lot of the time).

Areas quoted in heading were recommended to us by Chersun properties (who I’ve only ever heard great reports about), but which area to choose/continue researching? Or indeed is there somewhere else that may suit our needs even better?

We want to be no more than 45 mins from Alicante airport, living in an area with lots going on-or within easy distance to such a place. (I wish to integrate with some nice new friendly people, by way of attending arts n craft classes or walking groups, coffee mornings etc).

We’ll be looking to buy a newer or freshly renovated 3 bed house or apartment with pool or access to one, and be within walking distance to shops, restaurants, etc. This will be our main residence so don’t want to be based in a busy, noisy, party zone for instance.

(We have friends living in Mar Menor Golf resort which is gorgeous - property there is lovely too but we think it might just be too quiet there for us - somewhere similar with more ‘buzz’ would be considered).

Thank you. 😊

Your thoughts on La Mata and Santa Pola as places to live?

Hi, we have just bought a bungalow in La Zenia so now are selling our 3 bed 2 bath Duplex which his also in La Zenia.  We have been very happy there but had an opportunity to upgrade. La Zenia is a fantastic place which fits your description perfectly i.e. real buzz especially with the shopping centre 5 minutes walk away, lots of great bars restaurants, 10 min walk to beach. email [email protected] if interested photos available

Hi Kate - We have a lovely townhouse that we rent out in La Zenia. Please let me know if you are interested in renting it. It has 2 bedrooms, but also a double bed on the sofa bed downstairs, so can sleep up to 5 people. We have loads of people coming to stay there to look at properties in the area. Here is the link:

For short-term let: 2 bedroom house / villa in La Zenia

We normally stay in El Campello north of Alicante but decided to try La Zenia this year for a 2 month  winter break.  Really impressed with the area.  We have joined U3A and there are many groups within it that you can join, they have invited us to the late Christmas Dinner toight and have even arranged for someone to collect us as we have no car.   Bowling at The Boulevard 3 euros per person per game  Dance lessons at Zenia Boulevard every Monday at 12. as well as lots of other shows that are free, have a look on their website.   Great choice of shops and supermarkets in the area.  Bowling lessons at The Celtic Isle on a Saturday for 5 euros.    Playa Flamenca market on a Saturday.  Slimming World yype group in the area.  Already booked to come back next winter.  Only down side is the public transporrt is not brilliant.
