We have had our TV service through Norton's for nearly two years and have persevered with the picture freezing, channels not being received and pixelation of the screen. Phone calls just get a variety of excuses until the next time. Now the service is worse than ever.

Has anyone had similar experiences with Norton's ?

Any recommendations for other suppliers ? BTW where we are fibre is not an option.

Hi John

I too have experienced  exactly the same issue's as you and was beginning to think I must be the only person.

I took the contract out last year and paid cash with no bank details given to them.I have visited there office and e mailed them advising that

i will not be renewing the contract this year and will deliver the equipment back to there office on my return to Spain.Yet again they ask me to

explain why I am not satisfied with there service(none service) and when I take the time to politely outline the issues I have endured via mail-they then ignore me!?.When I have visited there office to complain I am greeted by arrogant staff that always start the conversation by ignoring every comment I make by saying "I personally have the same system at home and don't suffer any of the problems you have explained" - Which is basically calling me a liar!?

They have explained that it is an 18 month contract that still has 6 months to run,but as they do not have my bank details and I have pointed out that they have not provided a service I do not intend to renew and would advise anybody not to use this company.

I noted in there last advert, that I read in the local paper in November 2017 that there Selling slogan was "have you lost your favourite viewing channel's ? well we can fix it"!   - I NEVER HAD ANY FAVOURITE CHANNELS -BECAUSE I COULD'NT WATCH THEM LONG ENOUGH and they certainly never fixed it for me.

We purchased a satellite dish from them and after enduring problems within 6 months got no support or help. I would not recommend them to anyone.

We too have endured 9 months of a 12 month contract, unfortunately paid up front in cash, which we will not be renewing! They are crap! The internet is nowhere like the strength they say it is so therefore the TVs is useless! We went from a package giving us 199 channels to just 30 but even most of those don't work! Pixelation and just "no service" messages all too common! Please do not go there! Useless is too good a description of them!

Hi

We had the same trouble and eventually cancelled.  The customer service was dreadful.  They just kept trying to upgrade us and charge us more money.  Get out when you can and find someone else.

We are using IPTV worldwide, just signed up online and it is cheap, but we are having a few problems.  To be fair to them we are not sure whether it's the crappy box that Nortons sold us and insisted they wouldn't take back and refund.

Hope this helps.

We have not renewed IPTV box with Norton  (only 12 months paid and used) but renewed Internet only and managed to get 14 months for 149euro as a goodwill gesture from them for all the hassle they caused but no apology. The Internet is fine and since switching to a freesat box working from communal sat dish have had two months trouble free viewing, that only cost me £88 for the second hand UK box.Would therefore not recommend an IPTV box due to the common freezing problems due to iffy reception area unless a neighbour can verify that reception is ok.Don'the take the supplier/installers word that all is ok.!!

I just wanted to add that I have the latest Nortons system and cannot fault it ..... I have been told that the system of old was and has been shelved for a newer up to date version which at the moment for me (4 months now) is great so would thoroughly recommend Nortons since the system I had before from a different local supplier was awful.

Glad that your viewing experience is good but in conclusion I would quote my last comment : "check with neighbours that the signal/reception from the dish is ok and don't take the suppliers word for it"as like me you may be on the receiving border.

We had similar problems with the TV service, our internet provider was Telefonica . We were paying for 10 mb but using a speed testing app we found we were only getting 4mb at best , sometimes dropping down to 2mb . These TV boxes require 6mb minimum to work properly , anything less you will experience freezing , losing channels and pixelation .

We now have flexa fibre optic broadband giving us a minimum 50mb . Now Norton's TV internet box is fantastic , can't fault it . The look back feature , giving us look back on every channel for 2 weeks is invaluable .

The point is, the box isn't the problem it's the internet provider . If Norton's is your provider and you have problems download an internet speed testing app , if you get less than 5mb I would change provider but keep the box because when it's running correctly it's very good.

That does seem to be the way with a lot of these companies, if the system they sold you does not work rather than put it right they try to flog you yet another system that will not work as promised, I was going to say words are cheap, but I dread to add up how much we have spent on various systems since we settled here just over 4 years ago let's put it this way it runs well into 4 figures, so not so cheap.

My thought is, you can tell how good a companies customer service is by how they respond when something goes wrong, it's all sweetness and light when they are trying to sell you their goods or services, but what happens when things go wrong, as they often do?

There was I time when we had a Satellite system and IPTV system at the same time just in case one or the other did not work for whatever reason, I won't mention the company name to protect the guilty. Neither system worked as promised.
