Dear Darro

Could you independently verify that you are responsible?

This is a forum not a court of law.

Yours etc

Surely there are more worthy topics to engage such responsible members ?

Maybe you could have swapped your licence in the required time limits that's if you lived here at the time and if you did I wonder who the idiots are.

Yep! That would have been the thing to do if I lived here at the time. So I will keep it civil but you know what I'm thinking now don't you!!!

Obviously doesn't pertain to you then. 🙄

So all the people who have been waiting for the driving licence thing to be resolved can expect a solution this week. The delay is because of the conservative party arguments, the PM has to sign the deal off and it hasn't happened due to the selection process between dumb and dumber.

Can’t see it happening this year. Not just the clowns in Westminster but also the Spanish rubbing just a little more salt in the Brexit wound.

I thought this was actually real! Very irresponsible of you when there are many thousands of us stuck in limbo (& before you try slating me for not exchanging my licence in time, I didn’t get my visa until after the deadline)!

Bureaucratic inefficiencies aside (and those exacerbated by lazy Brits leaving things to the last minute and overwhelming the system) Spain bent over backwards to help Brits in the aftermath of Brexit.

If you want to place blame try UK's obstinacy and perverted sense of 'sovereignty', if not for that this whole debacle would never have arisen.

You appear to have forgotten those of us that got our Spanish visas/TIE “AFTER” the deadline so no fault of our own. Please think before you plink your keyboard. Yes, some may have been complacent, but a large number of people have many reasons as to why they missed the deadline. Whilst sitting smug on your rock, try out a little thoughtfulness and compassion please, nothing in this world is black and white

I've forgotten no one and I'm not unsympathetic for those who do find themselves in limbo THROUGH NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN.

If you are one of those registered for an exchange before Dec 31st. 2020 but had it kicked into the long grass along with those who came later on NLV's and were told from the outset that their licences were no longer exchangeable then you do have a genuine grievance otherwise you've been let down by the hollow promises from the British embassy.

Remember Spain were in no way obligated to grant the any of the extensions they did and only dug their heels in in an effort to force UK into action.

The issue actually goes back to the negotiations for the WA where  UK were negligent in not including driving licences as a point for mutual agreement, it was up to UK to ask for that not Spain/the EU to offer it but unfortunately they didn't and folks like you are now paying the price.
