Hi everyone I'm driving to Santander soon, my first trip and hope someone could give me a little advice for the trip from Guardamar del segura
How long should I allow
Will the roads be busy on sailing day.
I could do direct but possible overnight stop.
I would e most greatful for any reply... John.

Morning John
I have done the drive several times. One time in driving snow. !!!! Very pretty scenery. The journey takes about 8 hours. The roads are Relatively Empty. We usually stop overnight in Burgos. A beautiful town. The hotels are very reasonably priced . Stay in the centre very historic and parking isn’t a problem. Enjoy

I would recommend the website Via Michelin to plan your route, it will provide a detailed route map including information on where the service stations are located, where and how much the tolls are and much more.
Hi John, thanks for your advice regarding a drive up to Santander.
Nightmare heavy traffic driving rain gale force wind traffic and a lady with a few problems with her cats and dogs.. 10hours of ear ache... Stayed in la senda South of santander.
. Fortunately I was then driven to the airport for a flight to Madrid then a nice train ride to Alicante. The car and the lady and animals had a delay of 5hours to board.. Then a very rough crossing to Portsmouth. I fly to UK and if ever I need pet transport so be it.. L thank you john
