Hi Lorraine
Firstly, without citing my reasons in the public domain, I would be VERY wary of contacting Linea Directa (the Spanish Direct Line), but that's only my personal view.
I insure my motorbike (and my car & house) with Liberty Seguros. I do it all through a local broker who is from UK originally, who looks after me very well and is always there if I need impartial help and advice, an arrangement that I'm very comfortable with. When Liberty's renewal premium for the car wasn't competitive, they insured me with another good company for a couple of years, but this year I went back to Liberty. Incidentally, Linea Directa quoted 41% higher than Liberty.
Motorbike premiums are much higher in Spain than in UK. To give you an idea of premium, my Triumph 900 cc triple (see photos in the 'for sale' section) costs me 278 Euros fully comp. Unlike cars here, the cover is not for any driver, but for named drivers only. I think about 10 Euros of my premium is because my son is named on the policy as well as me.
If you need more help, maybe send me a private message, and I'll see what I can do.
Geoff.
