Could anyone advise me what info / documentation the Town Hall require for padron  registration pre residencia application.  Thank you

Hi all, just need some guidance on whether I can get an appointment for residency in Benidorm or have I got to travel to Alicante?

Read my residency guide. Benidorm may still be doing applications, but you need to ask the national police station or your gestor.

Hi Ray, I have a slightly different question on Residencia (with advanced  apology to Jim and his informative guides if he’s has answered this and I missed it).

I have a property on Costa Blanca and am now retired.  I anticipate spending more time in Spain from 2021 onward. To clarify what I mean as more time, I expect it to be more than 90 days in a rolling six months but not greater than 180 days in an annual period. So I will be over the period that makes me require Residencia but below the period that requires me to pay tax in Spain.
in my eyes this means I still live more permanently in the UK where I will draw a private pension but will spend a good time although not a permanent resident in Spain.

So after a lot of explanation my question is, should I still apply for Residencia, fulfilling all the requirements Jim’s guide explains, including financial and health insurance in the first year.  It seems to me if we Brexit with no deal and I want to enjoy more of the Spanish lifestyle, that Residencia would be both required and beneficial.

Am I comprehending the situation correctly ?

Yours or Jims guidance very welcome.

regards Ian

Your understanding is correct.

If you want to stay more than 90 days in any 180 days you must apply for residency. If you do this before the end of the Brexit transition period, the financial requirements are fairly easy to meet. The requirements for applications after the end of that period still haven't been cast in stone but, as things stand at present, the financial requirements are punitive and out of the reach of most people.

The private health insurance requirement is the same pre and post the transition period.

Hi

I’ve bought a place in guardamar and waiting to get out to pick up keys and move in.

I intend to live there permanently so will be applying for padron and residency. I’ve a Spanish bank account and an NIE number and have been paying part of my pension £700 into the bank every month since February 2020. I’m 66 and drawing my UK state pension. I understand to apply for residency I need in addition to above health insurance cover or the S1 form. My issue is I’m on the waiting list for a hip replacement and worried that if I use the S1 route I may lose my place. I assume this operation could not be transferred to Spain. Any advise gratefully received?

You need a pardon certificate no older than 3 months if you have already registered you can do it via the town hall email. We have just had ours emailed to us! You need to go to your Spanish bank with passport and get 6 months of statements with at least €700 per applicant payed in each month and a balance of at least €7000 and every page has to be stamped by the bank. Hope that is of some use👍
