You need a pardon certificate no older than 3 months if you have already registered you can do it via the town hall email. We have just had ours emailed to us! You need to go to your Spanish bank with passport and get 6 months of statements with at least €700 per applicant payed in each month a...

...nd a balance of at least €7000 and every page has to be stamped by the bank. Hope that is of some use👍

Also if you need private healthcare you have to prove it includes surgery and the bank have to stamp the receipts saying you have paid in full!

Hi thanks for reply my partner and I have been putting in £700 a month each since we put deposit down and opened bank account with have out NIE number. Only me aged 66 will be moving out initially. Account has had various balance each month during purchase

Jan 29th €61224

Feb 18th €32747

Mar 28th €3366 (After apartment purchase)

Apr 23rd €4550

May 23rd €5748

Jun 23rd €6051

So does balance have to be min €7000 when application made for residency or for months before?

I’m probable going to use S1 form.

Regards

Jeff

I think it’s at least €7000 on the statement you have to show when you go to the appointment, stamped by the bank 👍

For residency no more than 3 months old is what we have to take on Monday 👍

Ray I think your response is a a little harsh  to describe my intent as flitting back and forth, and judgemental to assume I would treat the Residencia as an accessory.
I understood from Jim Taylor’s  helpful post (without any hint of criticism), that IF I stay for more than 90 days in 180 days it was a legal requirement to apply for Residencia. I always intend the UK to be my permanent residence as I have family ties and commitments, but love Spain and see it as my second home from home. Knowing that I want to spend more time in Spain in the future, but also accepting I will be permanently based in the UK to see elderly parents and young grandchildren, I wanted to be sure my future stays in Spain we’re all above board and as legal as can be.

I can see why sometimes folks get a little upset with your tone which is disappointing as I think it’s easy to be friendly, polite and not too judgemental of folks......

Ray, I was simply looking for a bit of clarity. I wasn’t trying to become a permament resident in Spain, but was confused by Jim’s guidance that if you stayed for more than 90 days next year you would be legally required to seek residency. That’s clearer now.

Certainly wasn’t looking for a fairy story, but maybe a little civility without passive
sarcasm.

We went to Playa Flamenca town hall 2 weeks ago for padron and we were given another appt. for July as our long term rental contract was only in English and they insisted they need to see it in Spanish
