Hi everyone seems a while since the beach bar problem started, however does anyone have info to when we can expect them to open here on the Orihuela costa please. ...john

Hi,

I have read that the council put out tenders to run them ....received them and reviewed etc and then apparently there was a dispute about who should be awarded it so...... latest is they are doing it all over again and dont envisage it will be sorted this season! Only in spain!

It is with great delight that I report that the Beach Bars on La Zenia Beach re opened for business on Sunday 5th Aug 2018 at 9am. The "issues" have been resolved and the same company who ran them before this fiasco have won the tender for the next 4 years . Punta Prima beach has also reopened its Chirunguito and the rest are to follow ( but it will take a little time). So it wont be long Playa Flamenca,Cala Capitain and Campomour et al .
