New build reservation fee

Hi sorry more questions our solicitor has asked that we pay the company direct the reservation fee rather than through him is this practice normal in a a new build?

It is a non-refundable deposit, if we pull out we lose it.

My advice? Don't do it unless you can afford the loss!!! It's just brick n mortar at the end of the day, plenty of beautiful houses out there ...just be patient and you'll find it!!

All the new build constructors we work with offer Tue bank guarantee scheme. Builder goes under bank pays you back your money. Safe as houses. Excuse the pun.
