The Valencia regional government has just published figures relating to the coronavirus outbreak for the previous 24 hours.
Councillor for health Ana Barceló lamented that there have been nine more deaths in the Valencia region, taking the total to 33.
She explained that there are now 1,105 registered cases – an increase of 184 on the previous day.
Of these 378 are being treated in hospital and 71 in intensive care.
Valencia province has the most cases (627), followed by Alicante (372) and Castellón (104).
Sra Barceló said there are also two 'non assigned' cases.
A total of 180 healthcare professionals have caught the virus in the Valencia region, she added.
Commenting on the deaths, she stated that 17 have occurred in Alicante province, 15 in Valencia and one in Castellón.
A total of 20 people have recovered from the virus.
