Hello everyone

My husband and I are now living in the area, we hope permanently, after having been holidaying the last 10 years or so. I want to donate blood regularly, but understand that may not be possible due to living in the UK 1980-1996 (the mad cow disease period). My research indicates that it varies from town to town, as to whether I would be accepted as a donor.

Does anyone out there have any guidance about this? Or generally about how and where I can donate, if it's possible to do so? I've read there are mobile stations that collect about every 3 months. Do I just turn up and fill out the form?

Any help appreciated

Cheers, Cate

Yes I can help‼️‼️

If you have lived in the UK from 1980 to 1990(not sure on exact dates but round about then) cannot give blood anywhere in Spain.

They told me it was because of the FOOT AND MOUTH outbreak.

I was refused too.

Not sure about mobile stations.

I was very upset 😢

Sue 😘

Thanks Sue;

It is disappointing, as I've been donating for the last few years in the UK. I've lived in Australia for many years and it's the same situation there (can't give blood) so can appreciate that each country has its own requirements.

Hello

It's very disappointing to say the least. Maybe one day they might change their minds.

Sue 😘
