Work Experience:
Focus DIY (1990-2011) -
Customer Assistant: Stock Replenishment
Stock Controller: Managed all aspects of Stock Control. This included ordering Stock, generating Stock Reports and booking in deliveries
Cash Office Supervisor: Handling all aspects of Cash Office. Such as, Banking, End of Day Cash Up and Cash Office Reports
Assistant Store Manager: Assisted the Store Manager in the day to day running of the store. I handled all the promotion set up’s, and ensured that everything was completed accurately and according to plan. I also took charge of the Stock Control ensuring that stock levels are full and ready to be merchanised by the Replen Team. As well as focussing on the floor aspects of Focus DIY, I worked with Health and Safety Compliance to ensure we were up to date with the legal side of things too. This included providing the correct training on using certain equipment, as well as checking employee records to check all relevant documents were in place. I worked in several branches across the North West Area, such as Preston, Blackburn, Tyldesley and Manchester.
B&M Homestores (2012-Present) -
Shop Floor Manager: Duties included leading a team of 10+ Shop Floor Assistants and giving them relevant tasks needed to ensure efficient running off the shop. I split the team into and gave them each an area of the shop to focus on. This included all ticketing, POS and cleanliness of the section to a very high standard. Before the end of each of their shifts, I reviewed their section with them and gave them feedback on what was good, and what could be done better. As well as leading a team, I also took part in merchandising of stock, setting up promotional/feature bays, and doing stock control on TOREX Systems. I also helped with recruitment of new staff, and gave them all the relevant training required. I take a lot of pride in giving employees the best training possible, as I believe they will feel motivated and deliver the work ethic a fast-paced store like B&M requires.
Deputy Manager: Assisted the Store Manager on day to day running of the shop, similar responsibilities and duties as Focus DIY. However, I travelled across the North West and helped other B&M Stores who were struggling. I also assisted in the refurbishment of B&M Manchester, one of the biggest stores in England.
