we are hoping to move over in the next few months with a 10yr old and a 16yr old, I have looked online at schools but can't seem to find info on public schools only private, which are the best schools and we would be looking at English speaking schools.

thank you, i don't think i fancy them being held back especially my eldest as that would mean repeating her exams, what are the private schools like.

There is some concern over the fees payable by EU-Resident students attending British Universities from next year onward. The UK/EU fee scale is in doubt. UoReading is hedging it's bets (see attached). UoExeter now only shows "UK" or "International" fees.
For first degrees, the International fee is around twice the UK fee. For higher degrees, the multiplier is 3 or 4.
I like to keep my retired brain alive with a bit of uni study (distance learning in recent years), so if you have a workaround for the fees, it would be good to share.
I pay most of my income tax in Spain (I still pay a bit in the UK, plus property taxes); paying tax in the UK doesn't seem to help.

My daughter did her uni in Scotland. There were different fee scales there.
As we lived in England, the payable fee was £9k per year. But EU students paid nothing, zilch, nada. Unsurprisingly, Scottish universities are very cosmopolitan places.
