Hi

We bought a new build in March 2018 and still have not received council tax bill.  Do we need the cadastral value before we can complete the non resident tax form?  It asks for the cadastral value which we don’t have.
thanks

Carol

Have a look in particular at:

As it's a new build, this should have been registered with Catastro and the town hall, but if that isn't done by the builder or seller, then it has to be done by the buyer.

I think you should check with Catastro or the town hall that the property is registered and in your name. If not, then ask again and we'll try to help.

You should have done a non-resident tax return for the portion of 2018 that you owned it, and this should have been in by the end of 2019. The 2019 return has to be done by the end of this year.

Thanks Jim I have completed the forms for Spanish Tax Forms U.K. so hopefully they will be able to submit forms for us.  Some of the new owners have had their council tax bills but not all, we are in Spain in 2 weeks so will enquire with some of the owners how and where they paid their taxes.

many thanks  👍👍👍
