Hi everyone, we're looking to be in Spain for a week from 23rd December and I'm looking for suggestions for which area/s provide the most coverage for eating out etc. We normally stay around the La Zenia/Mil Palmeras area when on holiday in Summer but I'm not sure what they'll be like at Christmas. We'd consider anywhere south of Alicante down to San Javier but no further than a 15 minute drive from the coast.

We will have our 4 year old grandson with us so his needs will have to be considered as well.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Paul

Hi  Have seen on Davids Coachtrips they are doing a package from 23-27 December (including Christmas Day Gala Buffet) full board with entertainment each day staying at Cap Negret Hotel, Altea  including coach transport  €275 per person - fantastic hotel and food have stayed there before myself.  Just a thought and no cooking lol check it out!!!!

Mil Palmeras is fairly quiet around Christmastime.

You are better in the La Zenia area, most bars/restaurants open as normal and of course you can spend Christmas Day on La Zenia beach with thousands of other people.

Most municipalities have huge nativity scenes which are worth going to see.  Part of the tradition within the nativity scene is to hide a pooping man. It’s great fun trying to find it. Although it’s normal for Spanish children to search for the man I’m sure your grandson, will have a chuckle at looking for something quite naughty.

Zenia Boulevard usually have a Christmas programme for children, even though the Spanish children have to wait for the 3 kings to deliver their presents in January.

Torrevieja in particular have beautiful Christmas lights
