Also ask at the surf school.  Torrevieja.   Main coast road between Torrevieja and la mata.

At Playa Cerrada this morning two surfers were brought out of the sea by the police, quizzed and details taken. There were two police officers and when the surfers stayed in the sea two more police arrived on jet ski's to direct them to the shore. Hard to tell what the rules are because sometimes there are as many as twenty surfers in the water, possibly the authorities turn a blind eye when the beach is quiet, today's event was around noon when the beach was packed.

Thank you for this. My daughter was asked not to go in the sea to surf yesterday. Around 6pm more surfers came and went surfing.
As for the rules it’s not that clear

Hi, check out the Facebook page for Backyard Surf, they have a surfing shop in La Zenia in the street down from The QuietMan bar and Seven Fridays restaurant, the page has their contact details and they should know the rules on surfing locally.
