It sounds like you have a really high potencia - contracted maximum power.

Depending on the house and what appliances need to run at the same time, you may well be able to reduce it.

Speak to neighbours about what contract they’re on. You can also download the I-DE app which tells you how much power you use at any one time. I reduced my standing charge by €6 a month by reducing my potencia by 1kw.

Thank you shaun. Any chance you or anyone knows where apparently our LOCAL orihuela Aberdrola office is? My google is very confused indeed.

Why Google? Iberdrola's website says the nearest agency is at La Zenia, CL MALAQUITA1, 03189

Hi Jaymaher,

60 euros per month standing charge on a domestic Electricity account appears very excessive, even allowing for a possible  high potencia contract.can I ask if you have only recently  taken over the account from a previous account holder and do you know if you are paying additional monthly charges for additional services such as breakdown cover for houshold appliances or maintenance in case of Electrical wiring faults ,etc.

A call into the iberdrola office would be a good idea.

It could be the additional breakdown insurance contact charges which are bumping up your monthly account fees.

If you could upload a copy of your bill ( with deleted personal details) we may be able to advise further.

Sound advice given from your previous member replies . If you do decide to call into the iberdrola office to discuss the situation , the office given in the reply from Jim can be found at the end of the block, next to the bank, directly facing Macdonalds .

Please do let us know how you get on if do you visit the office.

Good luck.

Thank you all. Yes only just taken over. Will go into office this week

Did ask solicitor why so high and she said I was on lowest tariff. Somehow I know somethings not right. Thank you all. You are all so helpful and I feel welcomed into the forum.

Why Google someone said? I couldn't get onto google to search for iberdrola website..(.chrome). For some reason my stupid virgin network stopped altogether including data.. let alone free roaming. Only thing working is if I have internet near shops, restaurants etc.

I dare not even ask about prices of internet. Spain seems a killer so far

:)

Beside the Sabadell Bank in Los Dolses by the roundabout opposite Lidl and Mercadona Supermarkets.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Pete, it is the same with many areas, for example Playa Flamenca runs for the beach up to where the Saturday Market is and surrounding areas. Just don't get RayD onto the difference between La Marina and La Marina Urbanisation, LOL.

Before you go to the office, read the guides I gave you links for, so you understand what you're asking about.
