Sorry if this sounds a rather pathetic request, but I'm about to totally repaint our house and am wondering if anyone can recommend white paint that comes in those massive tubs and doesn't cost an arm and a leg!  Having bought the same size pot in UK before now and then found it so thin it required three coats, I am really wary of making the same mistake!  Not least because of the problem of disposal!!

You need to visit a local decorator’s merchant - quite often situated on the local trading estates. Don Color/Hecho/Servicolor all come to mind. Spanish paint is formulated differently to that in UK. Most of the places are extremely helpful if you go and ask them and tell them for what purpose you require it. There are a couple of well known maufacturers eg Titan/Urena and others. It’s not outrageously expensive but it wont be ‘cheap’! Take a dictionary or Google Translate if you don’t speak enough Spanish - they will appreciate the effort!

Mant thanks for your advice.  Just to be clear, Bassik I-20 by CPP from Alcampo is not worth bothering with.  Correct?

I have absolutely no idea I am afraid; I don’t live in your area and suggested the mentioned merchants/products as being well known high quality. Your choice!!!!!

If you're asking about emulsion paint, then all the large tubs I've seen have been low quality. I always buy Adoral Monocapa in 4 litre tubs from Brochacolor - about €14. It's a proper one coat covers and lasts for ages, both inside and outside. I don't see any point in buying cheap paint and having to apply three coats, as this works out more expensive, plus it trebles the time required to do the job.

For gloss paint then, like Stephanie, I'd go for Titan.
