Hi,

Please could someone let me know what the situation is like with Coronavirus in the Costa Blanca area? It’s will be a year in April that my father passed away in Alfa’s Del Pi and I still haven’t been able to fly over and collect his ashes due to the situation we are all in. Are you all in lockdown like the UK? Are places to eat closed? Any information would be greatly appreciated as I would like to come and collect my Dad some time this year and hopefully celebrate his life at a restaurant if they are open

Kind regards

Adele

Hi Adele,

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad.

The biggest issue for you travelling to Spain at the moment is that the UK is on Spain's list of banned countries, so only Spanish citizens and Spanish residents are currently allowed entry to Spain.

In the region of Comunidad Valenciana, the current restrictions have pushed down infection  rates, such that the regional government is allowing the re-opening of bars and restaurants (terraces only with reduced capacity) from Tuesday 2 March.

However, Spain's ban on travellers from the UK Is a national restriction, so that needs to be lifted before you can travel here.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Kim,

Thank you so much for your reply. I have waited almost a year so I’m sure I can wait until things are safe again. I should be vaccinated in March and hopefully by autumn I might be able to fly out and get my Dad. Such wicked times.

Stay safe and thank you

Kind regards

Ade

If you have a look at the N332 Facebook page you will find the current rules and regulations in respect of this virus as they have been keeping us up to date since last March.   This page, and their website that deals with anything to do with driving in Spain, are run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil for English speaking people.

Ahh that’s great thank you. I want to celebrate his life in Calpe where he lived for 27 years so I will continue to wait until it’s safe for everyone.

Kind regards

Ade
