Hi, looking for some wiring advise on a ceiling fan light please.
Only have blue and brown wires coming in but 4 wires on the fitting. See photos.

Blue is your neutral , Black and brown are your switch wires for fan and light. The yellow and green is the earth wire.

You cannot "hang" this device like a lamp. Instead, it must firmly fixed to the ceiling. Usually, a special fixing kit comes with the vent, but I can't see it in the photograph.

You will have to put the brown and black together or pull in another switch wire and put in a split switch to turn on the light and the other for the fan.

Thanks, need a diagram really showing the 4 wires connecting to the 2 wires that come from the ceiling as still undure of how to connect.

It's the wiring of the 4 wires connecting to the 2 wires that I am unsure about.

I suppose what I am looking for is a diagram of the 4 wires connecting to the 2 wires from the ceiling.
Electrics not being my strong point.

Would I be correct in thinking the black and brown connect to the brown from celing the blue goes to the blue and the earth to the mounting bracket ?.

You will need to pig tail the blue and brown into the fan/light fitting.
Connect the blue (neutral) from the fan to the blue coming from the ceiling. Connect the black and brown from the lamp to the brown(live) coming from the ceiling. If there is no yellow/green (earth) from the ceiling, just leave it, but cut the bare copper wire off.
